Performance evaluation of pressurized water scrubbing process for biogas purification using Aspen Plus


Project Description
This study aims to simulate and evaluate the performances of pressurized water scrubbing technology for biogas purification using Aspen Plus software. The influence of operating parameters such as water consumption, absorber column pressure, liquid-to-gas (L/G) ratio, temperature and pressure of stripper on the process performance will be examined in this study. The development of process model will provide depth understanding of process behaviour thereby to design, control and optimize this system. It can afford reliable data for preliminary feasibility studies and simplifies the decision-making process for biogas industries.

Research Title
Fermentation of lactic acid using agricullture wastes as substrates

Project Description
Lactic acid is a highly versatile chemical substance with a wide variety of applications in food, pharmaceutical, cosmetic, etc. The main challenge in the production of lactic acid is to achieve high lactic concentration and yield while utilizing low-cost substrates and strain selection plays a crucial role in this regard. The objectives of this study are to evaluate the effect of acid concentrations in the acid hydrolysis, evaluate the potentials of Lactobacillus sp. in the fermentation of lactic acid and to analyse the lactic acid produced.
