ACTIVE STUDENTS
Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering Technology (Petroleum) will enable students to acquire substantial knowledge and comprehensive understanding in a combination of chemical and petroleum disciplines to equip graduates with broad expertise that can be applied in industry, as well as equip students with professional skills to enhance employability. This course contain chemical and petroleum engineering technology contents with the main emphasis on fluid mechanic and thermodynamic, engineering economy and management, geosciences, reservoir, well drilling and completion, production and petroleum process technology.

PEO1

Graduates who practice their engineering technology knowledge in the mechanical and petroleum-related industry.

PEO2

Graduates who engage in a lifelong pursuit of knowledge for industrial and R&D.

PEO3

Graduates who display leadership skills in their workplaces and contribute towards society, environmental well-being, and sustainable development.

  • PLO1 Knowledge: Apply knowledge of mathematics, science, engineering fundamentals and an engineering specialization to defined and applied engineering procedures, processes, systems or methodologies.
  • PLO2 Problem analysis: Solve broadly-defined engineering problems systematically to reach substantiated conclusions, using tools and techniques appropriate to their discipline or area of specialisation.
  • PLO3 Development of solutions: Design solutions for broadly-defined engineering technology problems, and to design systems, components or processes to meet specified needs with appropriate consideration for public health and safety, as well as cultural, societal, environmental and sustainability concerns.
  • PLO4 Investigation: Plan and conduct experimental investigations of broadly-defined problems, using data from relevant sources.
  • PLO5 Modern Tool Usage: Select and apply appropriate techniques, resources and modern engineering tools, with an understanding of their limitations.
  • PLO6 Individual and Teamwork: Function effectively as individuals, and as members or leaders in diverse technical teams.
  • PLO7 Communications: Communicate effectively on broadly-defined engineering activities with the engineering community and with society at large, by being able to comprehend and write effective reports and design documentation, make effective presentations, and give and receive clear instructions.
  • PLO8 The Engineer and Society: Demonstrate understanding of the societal, health, safety, legal and cultural issues and the consequent responsibilities relevant to engineering technology practice.
  • PLO9 Ethics: Demonstrate an understanding of professional ethics, responsibilities and norms of engineering technology practices.
